Mr. Pretty Speeches offered up "original sin" last Tuesday which leads us to guess that the next time attempts a rescue speech, he'll cite Noah and The Great Flood.
But we'd argue that the original mistake in a democracy was setting it up so it wasn't a democracy. That would include slavery. It would also include disenfranchising all males who were not property holders and all women period. Most of all it would include the scam that is the US House of Representatives which is the only direct representative of the people and was created in such a matter so that the will of the people would be diluted as the population grew.
