Highlights

This piece is written by Rebecca of Sex and Politics and Screeds and Attitude, Cedric of Cedric's Big Mix, Kat of Kat's Korner, Betty of Thomas Friedman is a Great Man, Mike of Mikey Likes It!, Elaine of Like Maria Said Paz, Ruth of Ruth's Report, Marcia of SICKOFITRADLZ, Stan of Oh Boy It Never Ends and Wally of The Daily Jot. Unless otherwise noted, we picked all highlights.

"I Hate The War" -- C.I.'s Thursday night entry, the most requested by readers of this site. (E-mail address is thirdestatesundayreview@yahoo.com and Dona and Ty are asking that it be included in more features so we're doing our part and including it right at the top.)

"Iraq," "Iraq roundtable," "The Iraq roundtable," "iraq roundtable," "Iraq," "Iraq in the Kitchen," "Talking Iraq," "Iraq around the table," "Roundtable on Iraq," "The roundtable," "Roundtable" and "Iraq roundtable" -- Friday Iraq roundtable (which will be reposted in full here). Rebecca moderated and participating were Wally, Cedric, Rebecca, Ruth, Marcia, Stan, Elaine, Mike, Trina, Kat, Betty, Ava and C.I.

Isaiah's The World Today Just Nuts "The Feminist Barack" -- Barack embraces the Taliban . . . and Robin Morgan licks Barry's nuts.

"Kat's Korner: No Life Left On The Album" -- Kat explains the latest U2 album (hold your nose while listening to it).

"Dolls" -- Betty writes about her daughter's playtime and this really was a popular post -- both in terms of requests for a highlight in e-mails and in terms of the rest of us.

"chuck, heroes and medium" -- Rebecca covers NBC's Monday line up. On Thursday. Yes. Thursday's are hard blog nights because we've all just done a roundtable for the gina & krista round-robin (except Elaine who's doing group) so we're tired and ready to be done quickly. So you'll see us pick up topics that require less work or do shorter posts on Thursday.

"Arne Ducan, the frightmare" -- Yes, Arne is a frightmare. Good call, Ruth.

"Vivek Kundra now on leave" -- And Vivek is certainly something as well, as Marcia points out.

"Timothy Geithner" -- Stan explores the failed Secretary of the Treasure.

"Condi Plots Her Own Charm Offensive" -- Isaiah drops back to May 2005 to revist one-time Secretary of State Condi Rice.

"Iraq, Barack, and more" -- Mike covers NBC's Chuck on Thursday as well (show airs Mondays, see comments on Rebecca's post above).

"Barack the reality diva" & "THIS JUST IN! BARACK'S MELISSA RYCROFT" -- Edgar e-mailed and begged ("BEGGED!") for this joint-post by Wally and Cedric to be highlighted. He thought it was "the PERFECT comic juxtaposition."

"new york times can't help lying" -- They really can't help it. Here Rebecca catches them out billing a libertarian as a liberal.

"Selling out the women of Afghanistan," "Afghanistan," "Afghanistan women get forgotten"
"Afghanistan roundtable," "US designates Gulbuddin Hekmatyar a Terrorist," "afghanistan roundtable," "Afghanistan," "Afghanistan in the Kitchen," "Talking Afghanistan," "The Afghanistan Roundtable," "Roundtabling Afghanistan," "Friday night movie post on Tuesday," "Afghanistan roundtable," "Iraq and Afghanistan," "Afghanistan," "Ron DLC Kirk," "Iraq, Hillary, Isaiah, etc" and "Anti-feminist Barack Obama" -- Afhanistan coverage in the community including the Tuesday night roundtable Rebecca moderated.

"The Comedians" & "Friday night movie post on Tuesday" -- Stan's movie posts. He plans to do a DVD post (at least one) during the week. Normally, these go up on Fridays but the Iraq roundtables have prevented that so Stan's been writing them in the middle of the week.

"Barack W. Bush" -- As Mike points out, they are the one and the same: George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

"Silent film star tries to make a comeback" & "THIS JUST IN! LOOK WHO'S AN ECONOMICS EXPERT!" -- It's doubtful she could even qualify as a pretty woman today but horse faced Julia Roberts fancies herself an economist. Apparently, she studied it barefoot and in a pair of overalls (with one strap undone). She certainly had the time to since she hasn't carried a film this entire decade.
